WHY BE CONCERNED?

BECAUSE THE PROPOSED SITE IS WAY TOO BIG FOR THE ALLOTTED LAND. THE BENDERSON PLAN IS NOT WHAT OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WANTS.

On December 17th the Amherst Town Board will meet to vote on rezoning 330 & 218 maple road. We know it as the former buffalo gun club. Many of the town board members, who are due to retire from their positions at the end of the month, are said to be "pushing" this vote through.

If this happens, our quiet, peaceful neighborhood will change forever. We must support our council members who oppose this rezone. They need our support. 

·         Traffic flow through our streets will be increased significantly when a traffic light is placed at Donna Lea and Maple Rd.  

·         It will be a hazard, our streets are narrow, residential, many driveways, and extremely dark! Could you imagine the traffic going into this development on a busy Saturday shopping day? Read these excerpts from Benderson's traffic study. Do they have all the information &
they believe the use will not increase? 

•   The Benderson Development Company boldly states 
    (in appendix h - petition for rezoning) that the project
    "Will have no negative impact and will aid in the
    further redevelopment of nearby commercial areas"
