Continue the
Master Plan process by working to effectuate the
policies identified in the plan, rezoning parcels and refining
codes where necessary.
· Initiate a dialogue with the University of Buffalo in order to
produce a coordinated, smart growth master plan for UB’s
expansion in Amherst.
· Complete the assessment review process.
· Evaluate Citizen Review Commission and Government Studies
Committee recommendations for policies in the Town's best
interest.
· Settle any and all outstanding contracts.
· Initiate 5-year strategic plan for each department.
· Initiate 10-year vehicle management plan.
· Adopt an adequate public facilities law.
· Initiate improved accounting procedures for golf courses,
wastewater treatment plant and compost facility that reflect
true costs of providing these services.
· Re-establish a Finance Department.
· Initiate a Comprehensive Tree Reforestation Plan.
· Complete the drainage study & plan, begin solution
implementation.
· Continue to identify further efficiencies that work toward
reduction of spending.
· Continue to develop smart-growth policies.
· Work to encourage a high-tech light manufacturing industry in
cooperation with the WNY colleges and universities in order to
attract new businesses and generate high-tech jobs. |
